The film explores the connection between the famous Egyptian song “Ya Habibi Ta’ala” and “El Huerfanito,” a song written in 1931 by Bienvenido Julián Gutiérrez (1904-1966). The film looks at how through music cultures travel, bridge, merge, divert and collaborate to define a notion of identity. The film had its online world premiere through Live Arts Miami in 2020.
